Rex Townsend,
President and CEO of American Marine Bank announced the promotion
of Jane Sutherland to Vice President and Manager of the Main Office
located on Winslow Way.
Sutherland,
with over 30 years experience in banking, has been with AMB for
15 years. Sutherland has held various positions throughout the bank,
most recently as Manager of the Loan Service Center.
Sutherland is
a native of Bainbridge Island and a graduate of the North West Intermediate
Commercial Lending School.
Sutherland,
an avid gardener, has assisted her father Marshall Majors in many
BI Garden Tours of his property.
Sutherland and
her husband Paul have two children and two grandchildren.

American Marine Bank has been awarded another 5-star SUPERIOR rating,
its 30th consecutive 5-star rating, by BauerFinancial Reports,
Inc., the nations leading bank research firm. The award recognizes
AMBs past and present SUPERIOR strength and performance.
The award is
based on an analysis of current financial data as filed by American
Marine Bank with federal regulators, supplemented by historical
data.
"American

Bauer, president of the research firm.

Rex Townsend, President and CEO of American Marine Bank announced
Lang Hadley has joined the staff of American Marine Bank as Vice President
in charge of Commercial Real Estate Loans.
Hadley brings
over 30 years experience in commercial real estate lending to American
Marine Bank. Hadley will be serving customers in the Western Washington
area.
Hadley is a
graduate of the University of Massachusetts and the Graduate School
of Banking at Brown University. Hadley is also a certified Appraiser.
Hadley, active
in his community, currently serves on the Helpline House board and
is a member of the Port Madison Yacht Club. He is a past President
of the BI Rotary and formally served as United Way Board Member,
King County Low Income Housing Board, BI Park District Instructor
and past Chairman of Boy Scout Troop 565.
Hadley and his
wife Mary, a teacher at Sakai School, have two grown children. The
Hadleys have resided on Bainbridge Island for 20 years.

Louis Henry Goller, founder and past president of American Marine
Bank on Bainbridge Island, died February 17, 2000, at the age of 84.
On September
17, 1948 32 year old Louis Goller opened Bainbridge Islands
first bank. Louis fostered its growth to include ten branches by
the mid 1970s. While simultaneously overseeing America Marine
Bank, Louis founded and became first President of Whidbey island
Bank from 1960-1966. Louis served on eight committees and as President
of Washington Bankers Association (1949); on six committees of the
American Bankers Association; on two committees and Executive Council
at Western Independent Bankers; and on the Executive Council and
Legislative Committee of Community Bank of Washington (now a division
of Washington Bankers Association).
Louis was active
in his community, establishing businesses such as Bainbridge Insurance
and serving on boards and committees of local organizations such
as Kiwanis (Bainbridge Chapter - first President - founded by him
in 1957), Bainbridge Island Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, Bainbridge
Foundation and North Olympic Chamber of Commerce. Louis was a long
time active member of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church on Bainbridge
Island.
Louis enjoyed
people and taught a personal approach to banking. He believed in
providing a community service rather than viewing his profession
as merely running a business.
Louis is survived
by wife Gloria and the couples three sons, Dave of Kauai,
Hawaii; Jeffrey of Poulsbo, Washington and Joel of Shoreline, Washington;
nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
